Time matters.
If in any doubt, in an emergency, quickly check for general safety first, then if at all possible, call for emergency support. (999 in UK, 112 in Europe & Aus, 911 in North America and 111 in NZ)
Unconsciousness could be due to a longstanding medical condition or a dangerous environment, possibly involving electricity, collision with objects, animal attacks, poisonous gas or heat or cold.
Unconscious persons may be breathing or non-breathing, an adult, a child or infant.
They may also be experiencing additional medical conditions, including severe bleeding.
YOUR or other people's safety may also be at risk.
Speedily assess the situation and GET HELP if safe.
What follows is no substitute for being prepared through formal training, or good prior knowledge.
